“Wrapped Up in You” by Jill Shalvis is book 8 in the “Heartbreaker Series”. This book is based in San Francisco and features Ivy Snow and Kel O’Donnell. Kel is temporally in town visiting his cousin and sister. Kel owns a ranch in Idaho and is also a police officer who has recently went through a rough patch at work. Ivy had a rough upbringing but is finally wanting to settle in one spot (though permanence frightens her). Both protagonists are struggling with past family issue and struggle with trust. Will Ivy and Kel be able to overcome these issues? Will they be able to not only love each but also trust each other? Will they both stay in San Francisco, move to Idaho or go their separate ways?
“Wrapped Up In You” was a great romance story. While it did follow the typical romance flow girl meets boy, both overcome struggles, fall in love and live happily ever after, I felt that it was still enjoyable and had its own twists. This was book 8 in the series; however, it was very stand alone and a reader could go back later (as I’m planning on doing) and read the previous 7 books. I like that this book was part of a series that you could go back and get the back story on other characters. Yet as a reader you aren’t lost if you happened to pick up this book without reading the earlier books. If you enjoy an easy read romance that’ll hold your attention, then I would highly recommend “Wrapped up in You”. It would be a great weekend read by the fire or in bed with a glass of wine. It was a feel-good book. I would rank this book 4.2 out of 5. This rating is mainly due to the predictability of the book (though if a reader chooses a romance book, I feel that they are expecting this). Despites this I still felt that it had its own flow and was written very well. This book didn’t leave me to want anything and provided everything I needed as a reader picking up a romance book. I enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the romance genre.
